IMAS Retail Solutions recently gave birth to yet another first as it launched the IMAS Mobile Data Scan Module, which allows for authorized access to the company's stock data from virtually any location thereby creating unique possibilities to manage day to day warehouse data management in a more efficient manner.

The IMAS Mobile Data Scan Module functions by creating a link between the warehouse database and a PDA unit used by field staff, which would be used for data entries and updates, as well as to capture data on incoming goods, issues transfer and stock takes. Furthermore the data on stock receipts and stock adjustments can also be accessed through this module.

Added accessibility is a key benefit in the IMAS Mobile Data Scan Module. Since this module connects the warehouse system with the PDA devices, it increases the

accessibility of the data for both viewing and updating from virtually any location. This would mean that any data of stock that would change through ongoing sales could be uploaded to the IMAS system in real time through the PDA system, which would further improve the timeliness of the data. This would also tighten the back office management procedure and save hassle to the employees who would otherwise have update the stock records themselves at a later time, which could pose a risk the accuracy of data itself. IMAS has added a further product feature of a password to give added security and prevent unauthorized access or use to the data.

The IMAS Mobile Data Scan Module also offers an added feature of an in-built barcode reader which gives unparallel accuracy of stock data as all incoming and outgoing products can be registered in the system by simply reading the details on their bar codes. This would give added security to the warehouse products as all incoming and outgoing products can now be effectively monitored at warehouse level. This can in turn protect a company's stock from theft and pilfering at warehouse level.
